ExpiredGulf News reported in January 2026 that SAVA is fully owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim.
Gulf News reported about 160 weekly offers on more than 1,600 products at launch in October 2025 and about 200 weekly offers on roughly 1,800 products by January 2026.
The January 2026 Gulf News report said over 90 percent of products are exclusive private-label items sourced from the UAE and Europe.
SAVA publishes two kinds of edition on AdsSOS: a 20-page booklet and short one-page add-ons. The current booklet, titled "One Year Unbeatable Value", is valid from 15 to 21 October 2026, and a one-page "XXL Savings" flyer overlaps it from 19 to 21 October. The previous cycle was similar: a 20-page booklet valid from 1 to 7 October plus a one-page flyer from 4 to 7 October.
We found no official SAVA statement fixing a release day, and our data does not show a stable starting weekday, so we do not name one. Validity is typically about a week for the booklet and two to three days for the add-ons, so the dates printed on each page matter more than the weekday of publication.
Majid Al Futtaim, the company behind SAVA, described the format at its October 2025 launch as a discount concept for value-conscious shoppers, with a set of weekly offers inside each store rather than a points scheme. Gulf News reported about 160 weekly offers on a range of more than 1,600 products at launch, and about 200 weekly offers on roughly 1,800 products by January 2026. Neither article mentions a loyalty card or an app, and we could not find a published SAVA programme elsewhere, so we do not describe one.
The practical saving mechanism is therefore the weekly offer list and the private-label range. The January 2026 report put the share of exclusive private-label products above 90 percent, sourced from the UAE and Europe.
We did not find a published SAVA price-match promise, coupon scheme or returns page, so we make no claim about them. The general UAE position applies in the meantime. A consumer-rights guide says a seller must repair, replace or refund a defective product free of charge and that a no-refund notice does not override this; for food, that means a damaged or spoiled item should be reported to the store promptly with the receipt.
On pricing, Gulf News reports that prices displayed to UAE consumers must include VAT. A flyer price at SAVA should therefore be the amount charged at the till, and a difference is worth raising with the cashier on the spot.
We could not find an official chain-wide opening-hours statement, so check the branch you plan to visit. The stores are deliberately compact; the January 2026 report described simple layouts and smaller stores, so the offer list is narrower than at a full hypermarket and a quick look at the flyer before leaving home saves time. We found nothing official about markdown or end-of-day clearance practices.
Federal government offices moved to a Friday-afternoon-to-Sunday weekend from 1 January 2022, according to reports at the time, which did not address private retailers, so do not assume a shop's hours follow that pattern.
SAVA is described by Gulf News as the UAE's first Emirati modern discount retailer. It is fully owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim and opened its first store, in Deira, on 22 October 2025, followed by a second at Murjan Tower in Jumeirah Beach Residences. A January 2026 report said new openings in Dahan, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Mutarid, Al Ain brought the chain to six emirates. The reports we read do not give a total store count, so we do not state one.
The feed groups it under hypermarkets and grocery chains in the UAE, but SAVA is a small-format discount grocer and not a hypermarket. For a sense of how it compares with other formats, you can read the Carrefour promotion leaflet this week, the Nesto promotion leaflet this week or the Mark & Save offers this week, and the full list of retailers is on the United Arab Emirates promotion leaflets this week page.
