Clothes, catalogues and a surprising amount of paperwork

Britain has a long relationship with the fashion catalogue. Search suggestions still offer "free fashion catalogues uk" and "ladies fashion catalogues uk", which tells you that a good many people want something to leaf through rather than another scroll. This hub gathers the retailers behind those searches: a mail-order specialist, one of the best-known department stores, high street fashion chains and a jewellery brand. They are not a tidy family, and we will say so as we go.

The mail-order end: Damart

Damart catalogue requests are the classic case. The brand is mainly mail order, phone and online, with a single UK shop in Bingley. Its phone line, 0871 423 0000, is staffed 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, which matters because "damart catalogue request phone number" is a real query. Standard delivery takes two to five working days and express one to two. Returns go via Evri or the Post Office, and large change-of-mind returns can be collected for a charge. Worth knowing before you order a coat.

The department store: Marks and Spencer

People ask for a Marks and Spencer leaflet and a catalogue in equal measure, along with plenty of questions about returns and delivery charges. Standard returns run 28 days, with a festive extension to 17 January 2027 for full-price items bought from 22 October 2026. Standard delivery is charged, with free delivery above a minimum spend for fashion, home and beauty, a paid next or nominated day option and free collection. The loyalty side is the Sparks digital scheme, which third-party guides say was relaunched on 15 April 2026. We note that last point as reported, not confirmed from a company page.

The high street chains: Next, Primark, River Island and Zara

Four businesses, four different ways of working. Next catalogue is the old-school one, still searched as "next catalogue 2026", and the company is based in Enderby, Leicestershire, listed on the London Stock Exchange as NXT and a FTSE 100 member. A 2026 third-party guide gives 28 days for returns, and store returns are accepted according to the help centre.

Primark opening hours draw more searches than any leaflet, and the chain began as Penneys in Dublin in 1969. It belongs to Associated British Foods, which announced in April 2026 that Primark would be spun off, targeting late 2027. Click and collect arrived in November 2022, according to Wikipedia.

River Island offers come from a business founded by Bernard Lewis in 1948 and renamed in 1988, still held privately by the Lewis family through Lewis Trust Group. Summaries elsewhere put returns at 28 days, which you should check on the official page.

Then there is Zara sale dates, the most-asked-about thing in the whole hub. Zara belongs to Inditex, founded in 1975 in A Coruna, and the interesting practical detail is free returns in UK stores. A fee applies for drop-off points according to its UK help page, and click and collect to a store is free, collected within seven days with a QR code.

One brand that is not really fashion: Pandora

Pandora catalogue belongs here by habit more than logic. It is a jewellery brand headquartered in Copenhagen and listed on Nasdaq Copenhagen. Third-party summaries mention 30 days for returns; check the official page before relying on it. Searches skew towards gifting, which is why the pages get busier close to December.

Sunday opening: the rule behind half the searches

"Is Pandora open on Sunday", "River Island opening times Easter Sunday", "Primark opening hours Sunday": the common thread is the Sunday Trading Act. In England and Wales, shops larger than 280 square metres may open for only six consecutive hours between 10am and 6pm on a Sunday, and not at all on Easter Sunday. Smaller shops are not restricted, so their hours vary by branch. Scotland has no such limit and large shops in Northern Ireland can open for up to five hours between 1pm and 6pm, so a London answer is not automatically a Glasgow answer.

Returns and your rights

Government guidance says shops generally do not have to refund a customer who simply changes their mind in person, so a stated return window is often goodwill. For online, mail or phone orders, a customer who tells the seller within 14 days of receiving an item that they want to cancel is entitled to a refund, and a refund is due for goods that are faulty, not as described or do not do what they should. Oxfordshire trading standards also points to a fixed 30 day period to reject faulty goods. So if a shirt arrives faulty, the shop's stated period is not the end of the story.

Timing and sales

The questions pile up around sales: "when does Zara have sales" and "when does Zara sale end". We do not publish sale dates ourselves, so the retailer's own announcements are the place to confirm them. The festive returns extension at M&S, running to 17 January 2027 for full-price items bought from 22 October 2026, is the one dated seasonal fact we hold for this hub.
