34 days leftAuto, Sports and Leisure sounds tidy, but the five retailers here are a mixed bag: a toy chain, a motor parts network, two liquor store brands and a sportswear shop. They end up together because their catalogues come out of the same leisure-and-weekend part of a household budget, not because they sell alike. We say so plainly so you do not open a liquor catalogue looking for tyres. Everything below is linked from the South Africa catalogue hub, and each store page carries the scan itself.
The Toys R Us catalogue is searched in several forms: the PDF, the 2026 edition and the South African version, and the last of those matters because old international catalogues from other countries show up in the results. Business Report reported in August 2025 that Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa agreed to buy 13 Toy Zone stores in Gauteng and Durban, taking the network to 61 outlets, with each converted store becoming a dual Toys R Us and Babies R Us destination. The same article says it would be the first time the brand enters strip malls. The brand is privately owned by Michmir Investments and run locally through Amic Trading under licence.
The Midas specials catalogue is a short one: the current edition runs the whole of October 2026 and is only four pages. Midas is an automotive parts retailer that is mostly franchised, with about 300 stores according to older press and more than 300 in a 2024 regional article. Business Day reported in September 2026 that Motus, the group behind it, built a loyalty programme called Klutch for mechanics in informal markets, has signed more than 3,000 of them, and plans smaller Midas Express stores for underserved communities. For you as a shopper, that means the network is widening, so the nearest branch may be a different format. If a part fails early, the Consumer Protection Act applies: section 56 lets you return defective goods within six months of delivery without penalty and choose repair, replacement or refund, per FAnews.
The Totalsports catalogue is searched with the spaced spelling Total Sports as often as the one-word brand, and with Vitality in the query, which suggests people look for member-linked offers. Totalsports belongs to TFG, and the store site carries the terms for any member offers.
Two liquor catalogues sit here, and they differ in structure. Tops at Spar is the liquor format of the Spar Group; Wikipedia describes it as dedicated liquor stores, in keeping with South African law, and Spar itself works as a distribution business supplying independent retailers who join the SPAR Guild. Ultra Liquors runs company stores plus a franchise network and dates its founding to 1985 on its About Us page.
Trading hours are the question that matters most, and the searches show it: opening hours for Tops, and specials this weekend. The Liquor Act norms and standards set a minimum for off-consumption licences in business and residential zones of nine in the morning to five in the afternoon on Sundays and public holidays, and they apply where municipal by-laws are not enforced (acts.co.za). Where a municipality has its own by-law, those hours rule. Always check the specific store before you drive there on a Sunday, and do not assume the national minimum is the local rule.
Shopper searches also include cheap tyres and where to buy them, which is a category question, not a catalogue one; we do not claim any retailer here is cheapest. Families buying toys and baby goods together may also want the health and beauty hub for pharmacy baby ranges.
Liquor queries are worded by day (this weekend, today). Toy and sport pages are searched by year more than by week. Use the date printed on the catalogue.
