Jumbo Catalogue This Week

Which Jumbo is this? The wholesaler, not the mall or the Cyprus chain

Type "jumbo" into a search box in South Africa and you get a muddle. There is Jumbo Mall in Emalahleni, a Jumbo supermarket brand in Cyprus and Greece, and the Jumbo that puts out the catalogues on this page: Jumbo Wholesale, a cash and carry that belongs to Massmart. Suggestions such as "jumbo catalogue cyprus" and "jumbo opening hours larnaca" belong to the European retailer and have nothing to do with this one.

The South African Jumbo describes itself as a wholesale business serving traders, businesses and communities, with more than four decades behind it. Its website talks about bulk value across food, household and business essentials. A careers listing describes a low-cost, no-frills operation selling general merchandise, cosmetics and food, aimed at entry-level to middle-market traders, and a regional newspaper report places the Finro Jumbo business in Gqeberha inside the Masscash family, a Massmart subsidiary, since 2009.

Jumbo specials this week: how the catalogues run

Editions of the Jumbo catalogue listed on AdsSOS usually start on a Thursday. The current Jumbo Mid-month booklet runs from 15 to 28 October 2026 over 6 pages. A short Jumbo Specials leaflet covers 6 to 28 October 2026 in 4 pages. Two liquor titles ran from 8 to 21 October 2026: Jumbo Liquor Specials at 16 pages and Jumbo Liquor Deals at 8 pages.

So the rhythm is fortnightly rather than weekly, with a separate liquor stream. That is why people who type "jumbo specials this week" sometimes land on a booklet that began last Thursday and still has days to run. Check the printed end date before planning a stock-up run.

Buying for a stokvel, a spaza or a function

The official site has a dedicated stokvel page. It says Jumbo helps stokvels buy more and make every rand go further, and tells members to visit their nearest Jumbo Wholesale store and ask in-store how it works. It links to separate stokvel terms, which we could not read, so any question on eligibility or paperwork is best settled at the store. The site also offers a login or register option and a Financial Services link, though it does not explain what those include in the text we could see.

This is a wholesaler, so it makes the most sense when you buy in quantity: a month of stock for a tuck shop, a funeral or wedding spread, or a stokvel's bulk order. Wholesale buying is also where comparison pays off. Our pages for Makro catalogue specials, KIT KAT Cash & Carry specials and 1UP Cash & Carry catalogue sit side by side with this one for exactly that purpose.

Jumbo opening hours, Sunday and public holidays

Hours are the second most common search after the catalogue itself: "jumbo opening hours sunday", "does jumbo open on sundays" and "what time does jumbo wholesale close today". The homepage did not list trading hours in the version we opened, and we could not find a verified hours table for the South African branches. Hours can differ by branch and by day, and grocery wholesalers often trim them on public holidays, so call the branch on +27 11 532 3600 or use the store locator on jumbo.co.za for the exact branch.

Jumbo liquor deals: what to know

Liquor shows up in the catalogue stream, and in the related searches too, such as Jumbo liquor specials for Polokwane. Liquor sales are regulated provincially, so selling days and hours differ across the country. Take your ID, and treat any specific times printed in a booklet as subject to the branch licence.

Jumbo returns and your rights

The site links a Masscash returns policy document, which was not readable for us, so we do not state its terms. As a baseline, a ruling by the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on file at SAFLII confirms that South African law protects you when goods are defective within six months, but there is no general right to return items you simply no longer want. In a wholesale setting, check the policy before buying bulk quantities of anything perishable or opened.

Jumbo within Massmart

Jumbo sits in the Massmart cash and carry group, which is wholly owned by Walmart since 2022. Massmart lists Jumbo among its food, liquor and general merchandise wholesalers. The group has also been trimming its cash and carry network, with trade press reporting the sale of eight cash and carry stores, so confirm that the branch you plan to visit is still active. Store-count figures also vary by source: a careers page mentions seven stores in Gauteng, Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit and Polokwane, while a Walmart fact sheet shows ten retail units, and the homepage cites a larger figure across Africa.
