According to the store finder on the official site, six Leroy Merlin stores are trading in Gauteng and every one of them opens on Sundays. Boksburg, Little Falls, Centurion, Alberton and Greenstone are listed as opening on Sundays from 08:00 to 17:00. Fourways is listed as 08:00 to 16:00. Monday to Saturday hours differ slightly: Boksburg, Little Falls, Centurion and Alberton list 07:00 to 19:00 Monday to Saturday, while Fourways and Greenstone list 07:00 to 19:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 19:00 on Saturdays. These are the times the retailer publishes, so for a public holiday ring the store before you drive, because the site does not set out holiday hours.

A seventh site at Cornubia in Durban is shown as "coming soon". Business reporting says a Cape Town store is planned for 2027.

Delivery, click and collect and returns

• Delivery is advertised nationwide, with the fee worked out per product once you enter your address, and free delivery only on selected items.
• For bulky goods that need a crane or truck, delivery is kerbside only, which means it cannot go into buildings, and height or access limits can apply.
• Click and Collect means you pay online and the store prepares your order in roughly two hours. If you cannot collect on time, it is held for up to two days after your chosen collection date. Landscaping items and building materials are excluded, and partial collections are not allowed.
• Returns run through an online "Easy Returns" refunds portal linked from the site.

Searches such as "does leroy merlin do layby" and "does leroy merlin use payflex" are common, but the pages we opened do not mention either, so we will not guess. The site does list a customer line on 010 493 8000.

The story behind Leroy Merlin South Africa

This is a French company, founded in 1923 and owned by the Mulliez family as part of Groupe Adeo, according to Wikipedia. It operates across Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. Business Day reported in 2020 that the South African arm began about 18 months before the third store in Boksburg. It described the stores as experiential, with a large share of private-label goods and a range of roughly 35,000 products, a mix of imports from the group, local suppliers and South African-made building materials, paint and electrical items.

The first store opened in Greenstone in September 2018, Little Falls followed in August 2019, and Boksburg in February 2020. Fourways, Centurion and Alberton came after that. The search results on the later openings did not give exact dates, so we leave them out.

The site is organised into 13 departments: building materials, wood, electricity and plumbing, tools, kitchen and storage, tiling and flooring, bathroom, home comfort, garden and landscaping, fixing and fastening, paint and household, decor and lighting.
