The FreshChoice homepage promotes weekly specials, including a deal series labelled Sweet Save for the week of 19 October, and offers a Weekly Mailer, also shown as Latest Mailer. The site does not state a release day or hour in the text we read. The edition we currently list on AdsSOS has 18 pages and is valid from Monday 19 October 2026 to Sunday 25 October 2026, a seven-day window. Individual store pages also carry their own Weekly Mailer link, so what you see can depend on the store you select with the Your Local picker on the website.

How to save: loyalty card and app

FreshChoice takes part in Everyday Rewards. An October 2025 trade report said that from 20 October 2025 customers could earn and use Everyday Rewards points at all FreshChoice supermarkets. The same report describes Everyday Rewards as a programme that launched in New Zealand in February 2024, with partners such as Woolworths, bp, ASB, Airpoints and Qantas Frequent Flyer. The FreshChoice homepage currently advertises a points boost promotion under the name Points Party.

We did not find a published explanation of how many points a dollar earns, so check the rewards terms before counting on a particular rate. The homepage also advertises an Unlimited deliveries subscription, but the page we read gave no fees, terms or coverage areas, so we cannot describe it further.

Price matching, returns and coupon rules

The pages we could open did not publish a price match policy or a returns policy. The FAQ address we tried returned a not found error. Rather than guess, we recommend asking at the customer service desk of your store about returns and about whether a shelf price can be matched. Because FreshChoice stores operate as locally owned franchises, individual practices at the checkout may differ from one store to the next, and the printed Mailer will normally show the participating stores and the validity dates.

Smart shopping: hours and markdown habits

Opening hours are set store by store. Examples from individual store pages:

• Otaki lists 7:30am to 9:30pm on most days, with later hours on Friday and Saturday.
• Otahuhu lists 6:00am to 9:00pm every day.
• Central Mall in Rotorua lists 7:00am to 8:00pm daily.
• Hauraki Corner lists 7:00am to 10:00pm.

These can change, so use the See Store Hours link on the FreshChoice site for your branch. The Shop Trading Hours Act 1990 requires most shops to close on Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and until 1pm on Anzac Day, with exemptions for some businesses and for Easter Sunday where a council has adopted a local policy, so ask your store before a public holiday. We found no official markdown schedule.

About FreshChoice in New Zealand

FreshChoice is described as a franchise of locally owned and operated supermarkets. According to Wikipedia, the stores operate under franchise agreements with Wholesale Distributors Ltd, a division of Woolworths New Zealand, which is the New Zealand arm of Australia's Woolworths Group; the FreshChoice website footer likewise shows a 2026 copyright held by Wholesale Distributors Ltd. The same reference gives 74 stores nationwide as of August 2025, including 11 in Auckland, a franchise founded in 1995, and a headquarters in Christchurch. It also records that from 2023 Woolworths began converting its SuperValue stores to the FreshChoice name.
