The current edition has 5 pages.
The edition we hold is valid 19 to 25 October 2026 and has 5 pages. Specials vary by region, so check the weekly deals page for your own store.
Yes, Club+. You can spend Club+ Dollars at PAK'nSAVE, but the official Club+ page says you cannot earn them there; you earn at New World, Four Square and Liquorland.
Scan your Club+ card on a qualifying purchase of $1 or more. Some stores issue paper fuel vouchers instead, redeemable at that store's fuel site only. Terms apply.
The official FAQ says Click and Collect is available at most stores, with pickup in a timeslot you choose. It does not state a fee.
The official pages we read do not mention price matching. The returns policy does refund the difference if you are charged more than the displayed price.
Most shops must close on Easter Sunday unless exempt or covered by a council Easter Sunday policy. Check your store's notice or the store finder.
Search for "paknsave mailer this week" and you'll find a pile of regional variations, from Hornby to Rotorua to Invercargill. The store website lists weekly deals per store, so the Monday-to-Sunday edition we hold, 19 to 25 October 2026 and five pages long, is a good snapshot rather than the last word on what your local store has out the front. The store's own website lists weekly deals for the branch you pick, which is the source to trust at the checkout. Our NZ supermarket catalogues and mailers page shows how it stacks up against the other chains.
The first PAK'nSAVE opened on 12 June 1985 in Kaitaia, according to Wikipedia, with a second store at Henderson a few months later. It's a franchised brand under the Foodstuffs co-operative, and the same entry puts the chain at 60 stores nationwide. Local ownership matters here: the official FAQ says every PAK'nSAVE is locally owned and operated, so the owner decides plenty about how their own store runs. Other bits of history worth knowing include the Stickman cut-price advertising, self-checkouts from around 2009, and the end of single-use plastic bags in 2019. The first PAK'nSAVE fuel site opened at Tamatea in December 2002, and Z Energy took over the fuel contract in 2018.
Here's the bit that surprises people who type "does paknsave have a loyalty card". Club+ works at PAK'nSAVE, but with a twist. The official Club+ page says you can earn Club+ Dollars at New World, Four Square and Liquorland, and you cannot earn at PAK'nSAVE. You can spend them there, though, at one dollar each. There is also a fuel angle, and this week's one is a good example:
For "how to get paknsave fuel discount", that is the long and short of it. Terms and exclusions apply, so skim them at clubplus.co.nz.
The FAQ says Click and Collect is available at most stores, with pickup in a timeslot you choose. It doesn't state a fee on that page, so the fee question ("does paknsave charge for click and collect") has to be answered at checkout. Whether PAK'nSAVE delivers to your door wasn't covered on the page I read, so I'm not going to promise it. Gift cards, per the same FAQ, can only be bought in store, can only be spent in store rather than at fuel sites, and balances can be checked at the service desk or in your online account.
The Foodstuffs North Island policy covers PAK'nSAVE alongside New World and Four Square. Quality problems with fresh food should come back within three days, and everything else within 30 days. No refunds for change of mind. If the shelf price was lower than what you were charged, you get that product's difference back and keep the item, and you'll need proof of purchase. Alcohol, tobacco, vapes, Lotto tickets and fuel are excluded from overcharge claims. People also type "does pak n save price match". The pages I opened mention no price-match promise, which fits a chain whose pitch is everyday low shelf prices rather than matching.
The shopper questions are familiar: "is paknsave open on matariki", "paknsave opening hours easter" and "what time does paknsave close". The FAQ doesn't list hours, so the store finder is the answer for any specific branch. The legal baseline comes from Employment New Zealand: most shops must close on Christmas Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday, and on Anzac Day until 1pm, unless they qualify for an exemption or sit in a council area with an Easter Sunday policy. A fine of up to $1,000 can apply to the occupier of a shop that opens when it shouldn't.
