Price matching, returns and coupon rules

We did not find a named price-match guarantee on Woolworths New Zealand's pages. Its refund policy says it checks shelf prices against what is charged, and if you were charged more than the advertised price it refunds the difference. Everyday Rewards members may receive that refund as points or other credit rather than cash. We could not open the full policy page, so we cannot state return windows for groceries or general merchandise. Ask at the service desk, and keep the receipt for any complaint about a faulty product.

Smart shopping: hours and markdown habits

Store opening hours differ by location and we did not verify them, so use the store finder on woolworths.co.nz. What applies everywhere is the Shop Trading Hours Act 1990. It requires most shops to stay closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Christmas Day, and before 1 pm on Anzac Day, subject to exceptions. About Woolworths in New Zealand

Woolworths Group announced in July 2023 that its Countdown stores in New Zealand would take the Woolworths name, with conversions beginning in early 2024 and signage changing over roughly two years. At launch the group cited 191 stores, while the announcement coverage mentions 194; trade press reported in August 2025 that Woolworths New Brighton was the 150th store converted, at which point more than 80 per cent of the network had changed. The company states that it aims to keep grocery prices down during the cost-of-living pressure, but we give no price claims because AdsSOS holds no price data.
